Report: Yandex testing first AR service of clothes recognition Sloy
MOSCOW, Jun 11 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex is testing its first fully augmented reality (AR)-based service Sloy, which automatically identifies clothes items and allows for trying on virtual accessories and masks, business daily Vedomosti reported late Monday on its website, citing a spokesperson for Yandex’s content feed service Yandex.Zen.
Sloy’s interface contains a feed of recommended video, a scanning mode, which automatically recognizes clothes in videos, a subscription feed, a camera, and a user profile.
When users open a video in the feed, they see additional information about every item and similar videos and can join discussion of any element of the video, the Yandex.Zen spokesperson said.
The application is running a beta-testing on 100 invited fashion experts, and Yandex wants to involve first external users in June–August and publicly unveil the service in September.
